Life & Career Coaching

Hi, I’m Lisa! I offer life and career coaching.

My role is to support you through a process to gain clarity on what’s important to you. Once you gain clarity, I support you as you take action and move closer to your goals.

What Can I Expect From Your Coaching Services?

First, we’ll take a broad view to get clarity on what’s most important to you. We’ll then zoom in and apply those learnings to where you want support. We’ll discuss mindset issues and try to identify road blocks, such as limiting beliefs.

Overall, the process will help you get clear on what may be next for you and where to focus your efforts.

The program is based around exercises (“homework”) between sessions that will prompt you to self-reflect and dig deep. We will use the exercises as a basis for our coaching sessions. Expect to spend approximately 1-2 hours on each exercise.

If completing exercises between sessions is not feasible for you, this program is not a good fit for you.

What does a coaching session look like?

Coaching sessions are remote meetings with me and last approximately forty-five to sixty minutes. We’ll discuss any important updates, the exercise you completed, any insight or a-ha moments, challenges, etc.

At the outset of coaching we will agree on a cadence for our sessions (typically weekly or bi-weekly). At the end of each session we will schedule our next one so you can plan in advance.

What are situations where I would benefit working with you?

  • I want a break from work (like a sabbatical, leave of absence, or mini-retirement). I need support planning the logistics, getting clear on how I want to use the time away, as well as how to communicate with my company when the time is right.
  • I feel like my life centers around work, and instead I want work to be a part of my life, not my whole life.
  • I’m in the process of finding a new job but I’m overwhelmed by my options, and need support determining what’s most important and how to negotiate job offers.
  • I’m unhappy at work but not sure how to improve the situation.
  • I’m in or preparing for a life transition and I don’t know what step to take next to help me move forward.
  • I’ve been at my current company for a long time and want to make a change. But, how do I update my resume? What do I say in an interview? How do I negotiate?!

What is the cost of coaching services?

The structure of my life coaching program is intended to be more of a deep dive versus a short term engagement. Based on this structure, I offer coaching packages in either 5 or 10 sessions (sessions are approximately 45-60 minutes each).

I understand there are also situations where you may only need a few sessions to get the support you need.

A Little About Me

I’m Lisa!

After a 15+ year career in Human Resources, I had a gnawing feeling I was in the wrong place. I tried for years to keep grinding it out. I left a leadership role and transitioned to HR consulting, an option made possible due to our journey to Financial Independence. Despite my efforts to stay in HR, I knew it was only a matter of time before I had to make a big change. I finally decided to pull the plug on my HR career in November 2022, but not before I tried a 60-day leave of absence and working part-time.

Since then I started this blog, spent time self-reflecting and processing, and participated in several life design programs.

I decided coaching allowed me to do what I enjoyed most in my Human Resources career, connecting with others to problem solve and provide support in tough situations.

When you work with me, you’re working with someone who…

  • Believes we all need extra support.
  • Believes we all deserve to do work that is fulfilling and adds to our quality of life.
  • Has a track record of implementing intentional change: leaving leadership, taking an unpaid sabbatical, working part-time, and quitting a career that was no longer serving me.
  • Has been on the journey to Financial Independence and intentional living since 2018 with my husband (and our dog!).
  • Has over 15 years of experience in Human Resources, including eleven years in a leadership role or supporting top leadership.
  • Has over 15 years of coaching experience with employees at all levels of the organization, with a focus on management and above.
  • Is curious and fascinated by human psychology (hence the undergrad and graduate degrees!).
  • Appreciates the fact we’re all human and the nuance and messiness that comes along with it.
